Can You Say "Ouch!"

I recently posted that Chyler had taken her first steps and was learning to walk. Progress was slow in the beginning, but all of a sudden, Chyler has just taken off! She surprised me on Monday by walking around the apartment and hasn't stopped since.

On Friday, when Brian got home from work, I thought it would be a great idea if we all walked to the mail box together (since we live in an apartment complex, the mail box is a ways away). This little girl has quite the independent spirit inside her and insists on doing everything herself. Even though she just recently learned to walk, she insisted that we not hold her hand to help her. She stumbled a few times and got her hands dirty in the dirt, but that was about the worst of it. Then, when we were just about to get back to our apartment, Chyler totally face planted it into the sidewalk. And boy, did she cry! She had dirt all over face and had scraped up her nose pretty good. After a bath, 2 bottles, and a signing video (for comfort) later, we finally managed to clean her up and settle her down.

She must remember falling because she's definitely been more clingy today. Considering this was the biggest traumatic experience she's had though, she's handled it quite well (especially considering she already had a cold and a runny nose).

These pictures aren't the most attractive, but you get the idea.
Poor little girl!

believe me I feel your pain. I still shudder over some of blake's falls, bumps and the like.
